Purpose
The San Diego Injury Prevention Program facilitates community well-being through volunteering events, research, education, and resource dissemination. Our current endeavors include longevity and mobility classes taught weekly at senior residential facilities, health fairs for underserved populations, injury prevention presentations, joint events with UCSD trauma and Scripps, and much more. Volunteering is flexible (held on weekends at various times), meaningful (you can develop bonds with many people such as seniors and learn their health stories), as well as designed to build your pre professional skills. We ask for no membership fee, have no prerequisites, have no minimum volunteering requirements, and provide relevant training to support your success. SDIPP is part of the California Injury Prevention Program, an expanding undergraduate organization with chapters at UCLA and UC Davis. Volunteers are encouraged to join one of our 6 committees to get more involved in our expansion across San Diego county and into other areas of California. We look forward to working with you!
